Articulate Storyline

Storyline from Articulate provides an easy to use interface that allows you to build most any type of eLearning activity. You can quickly create highly interactive modules as well as screen recordings, simulations (demonstrations, practice, scored), and assessments. You can publish the traditional Flash products to be deployed to Browsers that support Flash as well as an HTML5 product that can be viewed in Browsers that don't support Flash including mobile devices such as the iPAD. Articulate Storyline also provides an Articulate Mobile Player for the iPAD that allows you to deliver the full power of a Storyline product to that mobile device. Full SCORM support is provided.

Adobe Captivate 8

Captivate 8 from Adobe is a robust authoring tool that allows you to build most any type of eLearning module. Captivate's strengths lie in its ability to easily record software simulations to be played back as either Demonstrations, Practices, or Assessments. Interactions include several different drag-and-drop components while you also have a library of interactions that are similar to what you find with Articulate Engage. You can build either scored or non-scored quiz questions that include multiple-choice, true/false, fill-in-the-blank, matching, hotspot, and sequence. You can publish the traditional Flash products to be deployed to Browsers that support Flash as well as an HTML5 product that can be viewed in Browsers that don't support Flash including mobile devices such as the iPAD. Full SCORM support is provided.

PowerPoint

For many years, PowerPoint from Microsoft has been a great presentation tool, with most presentations being linear.  However, with features added in recent versions, you can now build a presentation with branching and even simulate showing and hiding of information, thus a simple easy solution for some eLearning needs. Then it would be very easy to publish what you build with either Adobe Presenter or Articulate Presenter to create a SCORM package that can be deployed to the various LMSs in use today.
